Book Design “Knowing One’s Place” This book design project involved creating the cover and layout for “Knowing One’s Place,” a collection of essays on journalism, diplomacy, and football by Nicholas Karides. The concept for the cover focuses on the theme of identity and societal roles, which is reflected through the use of Subbuteo football figures, symbolizing the different roles people play within various systems, from sports to politics. The design aimed to capture the author’s exploration of complex themes in a visually engaging and thought-provoking way. The minimalist design approach, combined with the strategic use of color and imagery, ensures the book stands out while remaining true to the intellectual tone of the content. Utilized Subbuteo figures to represent the themes of identity and societal roles. The white background with pops of color from the figures creates a modern and striking visual appeal. Focused on readability and a clean aesthetic to complement the thoughtful content of the essays. Client: Nicholas Karides Date: 2018 Category: Book Design Share: Previous Next
